C. Veronica Dennis was born in the Caribbean island of Jamaica, where she developed an early love of books and reading way into the night.
Her voracious appetite for reading was nurtured by her father, who would ask her to read the newspaper to him every morning, even though he was a brilliant reader himself. Her love of reading was also nurtured early on in life by teachers who saw in her a love for the arts and who would always call on her to read from classics like the ‘Merchant of Venice’ and ‘Tom Sawyer.’
